If anyone has them, Narflex would? Unless he had to turn everything over to Google in 2010. |

Not sure about the HD100 however on the HD300s I discovered that the onboard power supply was taking 9v down to 5v in a rather complicated way (inverter) and that was a frequent source of failure (intermittent too). I found the output of that which feeds the main caps and simply ‘hotwired’ a run of the mill 5V power supply to that directly and have resurrected two so far working perfectly. Perhaps the reason for the original design was that 5V supplies became commonplace years later. In any event it works! I posted this on the Sage Github forum.. but happy to clarify.

well.... mostly troubleshooting random power failure on a hd100 mainboard... Or possibly a boot failure when it starts, it'll run all day long until the main power gets shut off. after that, it's hit and miss getting it to run again. Standby works all day long also when it starts up. working my way through the board when it doesnt start, compared to when it starts

Is there any way to contact folks here on the forum in a private message of some kind, so email addresses don't have to be exposed to the broader Internet? |

Not sure I follow… if I recall the HD100 has a fully internal power supply eg 120v delivered to the back of the box. I believe there’s a known capacitor issue but besides that if you can find where the internal 5v ps outputs are you could hard wire in an external 5v supply and disconnect the internal one. Just throwing it out there ….Sent from my iPhoneOn Mar 31, 2026, at 9:04 PM, jdaminc ***@***.***> wrote:
hd100 has its own separate 120v ac power supply that plugs into the mainboard like a computer would.. 5v dc at the output connector

I'm getting 3v and 5 volt across the board and at the front panel...Power supply is working as it should... may have narrowed the problem near the processor.. have to compare some readings again when the box boots up again

Well... did some testing.... pulled 2 caps... both were double the value of what they should be. At this point I'm gonna have to go through the board and replace what isn't in range. All the caps on this board are Chang brand. Pretty much the cheapest and lowest quality. but hey they lasted this long. will probably have replace them all.. Could also be the problem for the hd300s that require unplugging the lan to get it started. Possibly not enough voltage to do both at the same time when booting. I'll keep posting updates as I go.. gotta order parts, and repair a tv powerboard, and cassette deck in the meantime.. Thanks for the input you guys gave, it got me thinking about the booting problem, and lan problem people have. BTW the date on the unit is 2-13 2008 it ran nonstop since it was bought Thanks, |

I figured I would post an update.... After pulling and checking all the caps on the hd100, I found that 34 out of 36 were out of range. I replaced them all, and everything boots up and is working again. Anyone with an hd 300 that has the booting and lan problem should probably check the caps. at least in the area where the video and lan are located. If I had one, I would investigate. Unfortunately I never bought one, after buying 2 hd200s. Thanks, |

Jerry, I respect your desire and know-how to repair these SageTV devices! If for some reason you would like to have a "brand-newish" HD300, please post here and I'll see how I can make that happen. |

Are there any known schematics for these boxes floating around anywhere? There must have been something back in the day, to have them built.
