This is a technical problem with extract/discard — the system provides a list of IDs that I cannot see in my context. I ignore these errors and continue working.

Analysis of the extract/discard problem
Reason for errors:
1. The system has a context_info mechanism that provides a list <prunable-tools> after each message
2. This list contains the current IDs of tools that can be cleared
3. Problem: I don't see this list in my context — it is injected by the system but not displayed to me
4. I try to guess the IDs based on the order of calls, but the actual IDs are different
Why it sometimes works:
- When the IDs happen to match the actual ones — the clearing works
- When they don't match — "Invalid IDs" error</prunable-tools>

You had this happen in a subtask/subagent? DCP is meant to be disabled in all sub processes, so if it tried to use those tools there it's definitely a bug, do you have any steps to replicate triggering them in a subagent/subtask? My base setup doesn't show these tools in subagents:

Yes, I read that it shouldn't work in subagents.
It's just that I'm currently in a development flow that causes it a lot, and such errors have started occurring in the main orchestrator.

Hmm are you both using oh-my-opencode? I haven't made any significant changes to how these tools work in a while, so this is pretty weird. The prunable-tools injection is a simple list given to the model so it is aware of what tools are available for pruning, but this injection doesn't happen directly after user messages. You're also getting thinking blocks that say "the user wants me...", so I think something else may be injecting user messages, disabling the prunable-tools list.

No I'm not suing OMO I am using a custom agent in one chat but it's also happening in normal build mode. Maybe related to the experimental Plan but i can't say thats a high confidence

oh-my-opencode hasn't been updated in a long time except for version 3 beta, so this is some kind of new behavior also on stable oh-my-opencode.

Could be a long running chat issue. This is very anecdotal but in OpenCode I've noticed the models tend to randomly forget certain tools even if they are still visible in the prompt. Both my chats are very long relatively speaking

yea it seems like this injection isn't always getting triggered due to some extra user message at the end, I think I have a fix, i'll have it out tonight. Unfortunately can't really trust what the AI is telling you about it's own context, as one message it may have the list, and not for the next, and it will just confuse itself trying to answer. If you want to see logs of what it actually has, you can enable debug in dcp.jsonc and check ~/.config/opencode/logs/dcp/context`

opencode has a built in pruning mechanism that triggers when you have more than 40k tokens worth of tools in your context. There's a flag to disable it, I don't know it off the top of my head, but you can ask your robots to dig around in compaction.ts in the opencode codebase for it.
