THIS FEATURE HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED YET
The Snaps Page allows you to remove existing Snap packages.
- On the Snaps Page, select the Snap package(s) you want to remove.
- Click the Customize❭ button to proceed.
- Cubic will delete all files associated with the selected Snap package(s).
- This action cannot be undone.
- Removed Snap packages cannot be reinstalled. (Remember: you cannot install new Snaps using Cubic.)
- Do not uninstall all Snap packages. The Ubuntu installer (Ubuntu Desktop Bootstrap) depends on other Snap packages, so removing everything will break the installation.
These are commonly safe targets to remove:
- Firefox
- Snap Store
- Thunderbird
Once the selected Snaps are removed, Cubic will automatically transition to the Terminal Page.
On the Terminal Page, you must manually remove any deb packages related to the removed Snap apps. For example, if you removed the Firefox Snap, remove the corresponding Debian package using:
apt remove --purge firefoxWhile Cubic is removing Snap packages:
- Do not cancel by clicking the ❬Back button. (Note ❬Back button has been disabled to prevent this).
- Do not exit Cubic.
Interrupting the process may leave your customized filesystem in an inconsistent state.
