Description

The goal of this ticket is to upgrade Angular and the dependencies listed in the package.json file to their latest versions in the HWC-Inventory-UI project. Keeping dependencies up-to-date is essential for maintaining security, improving performance, and taking advantage of the latest features and fixes offered by the libraries used.

Acceptance Criteria

• Angular core and related packages are updated to the latest stable version.
• All dependencies in package.json are upgraded and compatible with the new Angular version.
• build and locally serving the application works without any issues.

Implementation Details

npm install -g npm-check-updates
ncu # give list of outdated dependencies
ncu -u # update all the dependencies

Run npm audit fix to update dependencies to latest non-vulnerable versions.

I'm ready to tackle the Angular 18 upgrade for the HWC-Inventory-UI project!

Here's my approach to solve this issue:

• Bring Angular Up to Speed: I'll get us onto the latest and greatest Angular 18, along with all the supporting libraries. To make this smooth, I'll use a handy tool called npm-check-updates to spot any outdated packages and update our project's configuration file.
• Patch Up Security: I'll run npm audit fix to make sure we're not leaving any security holes open. This will update any packages with known vulnerabilities to their secure versions.
• Double-Check Everything: After the upgrade, I'll build the project and run it on my computer to make sure the user interface looks and works perfectly. I'll also run our test suite to guarantee everything is still performing as it should.
