Adding a parameter name_contains

In our applications we sometimes need to read in files where the filename contains certain characters. For example, we might want to read files that contain "2023-01" in their filenames. Would it be possible to add this feature? I can open a pull request too if you don't have time for it.

Hi there,

yes, adding this feature is possible. read_bulk already allows for filtering files by their extension (via the corresponding argument). I could add another, more flexible argument for filtering file names. This would probably internally use the base R grep function (to avoid introducing additional package dependencies), so you could specify any regular expression. However, we then might want to also allow the user to filter using fixed strings only (i.e., internally calling grep with fixed=TRUE), which might necessitate adding a further argument.

Sorry for getting back to this much later than expected. I just added two arguments (name_contains and name_filter) for filtering files either using character strings (only keeping files whose name contains this string) or by using regular expressions, respectively. Will publish a new release on CRAN in the next days.
