Just enabled it and it works well!

When resuming it repeats the last few seconds, which is very fine for audiobooks.

How many seconds? The normal behavior is to rewind by 2 seconds.

Regardless of this feature.

The new logic persists the position once you pause.
So it should definitely continue where you left off (-2s)

I think it is a bit more but I can check. Not much, works fine. Pausing has the same effect, might be 2s there.

Ah yes, that is a very unusual pattern. Besides key events, the app already persists every few minutes as a backup. 👌

It's not working for me, after force closing the app I'm back where I started the playback

That is kind of expected. How do you force close the app?

Using app info - Stop , maybe updating the current position every 5 minutes and at the end of every chapter, just in case the app crashes so my 6h play session won't be completly lost

Seems to mostly work, with one exception: When I "close" the app (not force-stopping from the settings, just closing from the multi-app overview), the playback continues normally, but upon re-entering the app, the displayed playback position restarts from the last event that occurred (i.e. starting the playback). This is merely visual and is corrected once another event occurs, like hitting pause. I guess, this is expected as the UI cannot stay in sync while closed, but maybe the calculation could use the timestamp of the last event to deduce the current location?
