Tag System
Information • Creating Tags • Editing Tags • Deleting Tags • Tag Information • Listing Tags
The tag system built into its core framework, allowing server owners to make custom commands, that can display any text you like, allowing for easy to use commands that can display responses that are commonly required, or arduous to type out.
While we aim to make it as easy as possible to create and use tags, we have designed this wiki page to provide more insight into the usage, and for more details that we are unable to fit into a 100 character limit required by Discord.
Should you wish to delete any information that we store, such as tag contents, please DM PenPow#7067, our Data Privacy Manager, on Discord, and we can delete any data we have regarding your server.
To create a task, you first need to run <PREFIX>tag create. This will bring up an interactive menu allowing you to create a new tag. We advise that you have the tag content ready to copy and paste, so that when it asks for it, you can provide it.
⚠️ Note that due to discord restrictions, any newlines or spaces will be converted into a-(or_if you are using a slash command.
Then, you will be prompted with the second embed, seen below

Now, we need to supply the description, which is shown as the content of the tag. You have two minutes, before this prompt expires, which is why I recommend you write it out in advance.
⚠️ Note that due to discord restrictions, the message cannot exceed 2000 characters (the limit for bots).
Once you have submitted this, you will receive an embed saying it was successfully created, along with how you can use the tag.
⚠️ Tag Support is only for regular messages, and you cannot view tags through / commands, although we are working to resolve this issue, and we are expecting a release for this to be published in Signal v2.1.0
Now that you have finished reading this section of the guide, you can read onwards to learn about editing, deleting, and getting more information about the tag.
⚠️ You can only edit a tag if you have administrator permissions, or if you were the original creator of the tag. Note that custom roles to control tags, music, and more is coming in Signal v2.1.0
Accidentally misspelt something in your tag? Information outdated? No worry, this portion of the guide showcases how to edit the content of a tag.
⚠️ You are unable to change the name of the tag, if you need to do this, then you need to make a new tag.
To edit the content of a tag run <PREFIX>tag edit and then when asked to, input the name of the tag. In this scenario, you can either input the name of the tag when ran (the tag name that we format), or the name with capitals and spaces, as we convert it and ensure it meets Discord guidelines once submitted.
It will then ask you what you want to edit the tag's content to. Provide this information, we recommend you have this prepared in advance as the prompt expires after two minutes.
Once you have finished editing the tag, access it through the name provided for use by the command.
All statistics about the command (found under <PREFIX>tag show) will be kept while changing the content of it.
⚠️ You can only delete a tag if you have administrator permissions, or if you were the original creator of the tag. Note that custom roles to control tags, music, and more is coming in Signal v2.1.0
Should you no longer need a tag anymore, then this section is the place for you.
Deleting a tag is simple! To delete a tag, run <PREFIX>tag delete, and when prompted, enter the name of the tag you wish to delete. In this scenario, you can either input the name of the tag when ran (the tag name that we format), or the name with capitals and spaces, as we convert it and ensure it meets Discord guidelines once submitted.
⚠️ There is no going back, or confirmation with deleting a tag, so think carefully before deleting!
If it finds a tag, it will remove it from our database!
Should you want to learn more about a tag, such as who created it, the number of uses, or when it was last modified, you can run the command <PREFIX>tag show and then when asked, provide the name of the tag. In this scenario, you can either input the name of the tag when ran (the tag name that we format), or the name with capitals and spaces, as we convert it and ensure it meets Discord guidelines once submitted.
Our system will gather the data, and then provide you with an embed containing all information regarding that particular tag!
Should you wish to know about all the tags currently created in your server, you can run <PREFIX>tag list, which will go through our database and gather a list of all tags in your server, which you can then gather more information about using the information above.
Should you have any questions regarding the usage of the tag system, or regarding the general usage of the bot, feel free to DM PenPow#7067 on Discord.
If you have a bug report, or feature request, then you can create a new issue on this GitHub, and a member of our development team will swiftly review it!
