Problems Running GUI on Raspberry Pi #58

@keiranbarr has experienced the following problems at different points in development:
- The UI will not update automatically (for example, needing to drag a slider in order for the live preview image to update)
- Clicking to preview the image will cause the GUI to hang ( MNT: Migrate connectivity logic from UI to Connector class #53 (comment) )
I wonder if these might indicate some incompatibility between what is on the Pi and wxWidgets, though I'm not sure. I do not experience these issues on my home Pop OS (Linux) computer.
Possibly related is issue #42 about the renderer, but that applies to Linux and general and is not specific to the Pi.
