I kept this 2022 because bumping to 2024 might impact browser support; we may want to consider tooling to help us ensure different types of browser support from a static analysis PoV.

Oddly... I had to update my local node from 24.9.x to 24.10.x in order for the resulting package-lock to mesh with ci's expectations.

Sharing here in case someone else is bit by this later.
