WHEN started from a meme about "when" statements and became whatever this is. No grandiose mission, no paradigm to revolutionize, just a language that exists because I thought it would be funny to make everything run in infinite loops with when conditions.

What WHEN Is

• A language where everything loops implicitly
• Reactive programming through when conditions
• Deliberately missing traditional loops (for/while) because we're stubborn
• Somehow production-ready enough for IoT control systems
• Capable of running a 3D DOOM-like renderer through recursive mutual trampolining

Current Status

• v0.4.0 on PyPI with 300+ weekly downloads
• Actively used in IoT/embedded systems (thanks @GabCores)
• Game engine (whGame) for those brave enough to try it https://github.com/PhialsBasement/whGame-WHEN-Language-Game-Engine
• Hot reload and parallel blocks for actual concurrency

How This Works

• I build whatever seems fun (game engines, renderers, networking protocols)
• If you find WHEN useful for real work, tell me and I'll try not to break your use case while trying to also improve it at the same time
• Features get added based on what's interesting OR what users actually need
• Working on a roadmap
