Photos for Proton for Windows 0.2.0-beta.1

An unofficial desktop client for Proton Drive Photos, for Windows.

This is a beta. The core is complete and has been tested end to end against a
real account.

Your library

• Browse the whole timeline, open a photo or video full size, and move through it
  with the arrow keys, a filmstrip, or a contents list
• Albums: create, rename, delete, choose a cover, add and remove photos
• Favourites, search, and a trash that restores or deletes for good
• Sharing both ways, including albums shared with you

In File Explorer

• Your library shows up as an ordinary folder in the navigation pane
• Nothing takes up disk space until it is opened, and any photo can be given back
• Optional. With it switched off, downloads go to a folder you pick instead

Kept offline

• Any photo can be kept available offline, encrypted inside the app, so no
  readable copy is written anywhere else on the PC
• New photos arriving in the timeline can be downloaded automatically, or you can
  pick a single album instead

Files on this PC

• Open a photo or video from Explorer straight into the viewer, with no sign-in
• Read its details, rename it, send it to the recycle bin, or upload it to Proton
  in one press
• Optional, and switchable from Settings at any time

Uploading

• Photos and videos, carrying their thumbnail, capture time, size, length, the
  place they were taken and the camera that took them
• Videos are tagged so every Proton client reads them as video

Installing

Download Photos-for-Proton-Setup.exe and run it. It installs for your account
only and asks for no administrator rights. Run it over an existing install and it
offers to upgrade in place, keeping your settings and anything already downloaded.
