Vela integration w/ third party apps

[AKRAKGW]

Hello from a very happy new user of Vela. I have a question though: since installing it I've uninstalled G Maps, unfortunately when I get gps positions on telegram chats, after clicking it, it asks to download G Maps from play store instead of opening the coordinates with the only maps app that I have installed, Vela indeed. Do you know if I can do something to fix this behavior?

I'm on GOS, P10.

Thank you

Glad it is working for you. That prompt comes from Telegram itself: when you tap a location in a chat, the official app first checks whether the Google Maps app is installed, and if it is not, it offers the Play Store and stops there, so no other maps app is ever asked. Nothing on our side can change that.

Telegram FOSS on F-Droid drops that check. Its location screen has an "Open in Maps" button that hands the point to Vela, and starting with the next nightly its Directions button opens Vela's route chooser to that spot too (until now Vela opened on a plain map for that kind of link).

I suspected it was as you described. I don't use F-droid, I downloaded Telegram through Obtanium from Github link, so I'm stuck with this thing. This means I will ask for addresses instead of shared location 👍
