Quickstart

Get your Orbit workspace up and running in a few minutes.

1. Choose Your Deployment

Before continuing, you need an Orbit instance.

For most users, Planetary Cloud is the easiest option because hosting and infrastructure are managed for you.

If you want to run Orbit yourself, see Self-Hosting.

2. Create Your Workspace

Open your Orbit instance and follow the setup process.

During setup, you will configure the basic information for your workspace and connect it to your Roblox group.

You will need:

• A Roblox account with sufficient permissions in your group
• A Roblox group
• Access to the Orbit instance you are configuring

Once setup is complete, Orbit will create your workspace and take you to the dashboard.

3. Connect Roblox

Orbit uses Roblox to synchronize your group's members, roles, name, etc.

We highly recommend using Roblox OAuth to prevent ratelimits and other potential issues in your Instance. For more information, see Roblox OAuth.

4. Configure Your Workspace

Once your workspace is created, configure the features your staff team needs.

Common configuration tasks include:

• Creating Roles and Permissions
• Configuring Departments
• Setting up Policies
• Configuring Notices
• Enabling Feature Flags
• Configuring Sessions
• Connecting External Integrations

You do not need to configure everything immediately. Orbit can be configured as your organization grows.

5. Add Your Staff

Invite your staff members to your workspace and assign them the appropriate roles.

6. You're Ready

Your Orbit workspace is now ready to use.
