Release list
final-fantasy-resonance-fix 0.3.1
Changes
- Fixed a crash that could happen during a battle transition after several battles (thanks @Darjjj)
- Battle transitions are more robust in general
- The Battle Result, Growth and Level Up screens now shade the whole screen instead of just the 16:9 center
- Fixed a rare case where a menu's background shade could stay at 16:9
- If the config file is missing or has a mistake in it, the mod now does nothing instead of running with default settings; the log file (
final_fantasy_resonance_fix.login thescriptsfolder) says what went wrong - Turning off both the HUD and movie fixes now also skips their startup work
- Made the mod more resilient to future game updates

final-fantasy-resonance-fix 0.3.0
Changes
- Updated for the full release of the game (#1)
- Game now keeps running when its window loses focus instead of freezing (can be turned off in the config)
- Chapter titles in in-engine cutscenes are now constrained along with the HUD
- Pop-ups during in-engine cutscenes now dim the whole screen instead of just the 16:9 center
- Simplified custom fonts: place a .ttf or .otf file in the scripts folder and enable it in the config, no file path needed
- The file setting under [fonts] has been removed; if you keep your old config, delete that line, otherwise the mod ignores the whole config and uses defaults
- Made the mod more resilient to future game updates

Changes

Summons play the way they should. Previously the black screen covered the
entire summon. The in-engine lead-in animation now plays over the battle as
intended, and the screen only goes black for the pre-rendered movie itself. -
The battle entry transition is no longer stretched. The effect that plays
as you enter a battle is a capture of the screen, and the game always takes
that capture at 16:9 — on an ultrawide it arrived squashed and was then
stretched back out, distorting the whole thing. It's now shown undistorted,
centered at 16:9 along with the rest of the constrained HUD. -
The map stays inside the 16:9 area. In the map menu the map no longer
leaks out into the black bars at the sides. -
The corner shadow in battle is gone. The battle HUD paints a soft shadow
that fades into its own corners. At 16:9 those corners are the screen's, so
you never see it — but with the HUD constrained on a wider display it sat in
open screen as a dark smudge with a visible edge. It's no longer drawn.
