IntelliVolume v1.0

IntelliVolume is an intelligent, automatic system volume controller for Windows. It monitors your environment's loudness in real time and adjusts your system volume up or down to maintain comfortable listening levels. If you manually override the volume, IntelliVolume will pause its adjustments and exit if you override too many times.

How It Works

  1. Set Your Preferences:
    When you start IntelliVolume, you set your desired loudness range (in dB).

  2. Real-Time Monitoring:
    The app listens to your environment using your microphone and measures loudness.

  3. Automatic Adjustment:
    If the loudness goes above your upper threshold, IntelliVolume lowers the system volume. If it drops below your lower threshold, it raises the volume.

  4. Manual Override:
    If you manually change the system volume, IntelliVolume detects this and pauses its adjustments.

    • If you override the automatic control 4 times, the app exits.
    • If you keep the override for more than 10 minutes, the app exits.

How to Run

  1. Install Requirements:
    Make sure you have Python 3.8+ and install dependencies:

    pip install sounddevice numpy pycaw comtypes

  2. Run IntelliVolume:

    python main.py

    Or, use the provided main.exe if available.

  3. Set Your Loudness Range:
    Use the GUI to set your preferred minimum and maximum loudness.

  4. Let IntelliVolume Work:
    The app will now monitor and adjust your system volume automatically.

Notes

  • Requires a working microphone.
  • For best results, run on Windows 10 or later.
  • If using the .exe, no Python installation is needed.
