Dock icon does not show AO is open

Describe the bug
When I run AO the dock icon does not show it is open even though it is.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. open AO

Expected behavior
as per the qbove description. As well as this when I click the AO dock icon it indicates that AO is not running
