Get NFTs by account

When you use the "Get NFTs by account" api call it perfectly gives output of how many nfts are owned by the owner for ERC721 contracts! but for Erc1155 contracts it only gives output of 1 no matter how many the owner is holding. Please solve this

getNFTsByAccount lists NFT identities, not one result per copy owned. For an ERC-1155, owning 20 copies of the same (contract, tokenId) still produces one NFT entry. Counting entries therefore gives 1, whereas ERC-721 naturally has one copy per token ID.

To obtain the ERC-1155 balance for a particular token, query its owners and read the matching owner's quantity:

For a trust-minimized/current value, you can also call the ERC-1155 contract's balanceOf(account, tokenId) directly through your chain provider.

If you already mean the returned owner's quantity field—not the length of the nfts array—and it is still 1 while balanceOf is greater than one, that would be an API indexing discrepancy rather than an SDK pagination issue. In that case, please add the chain, contract address, token ID, account, SDK version, and the on-chain balanceOf result so it can be reproduced without exposing any private keys.

Why cant the api call return the same quantity or something? alchemy already does that! but i keep getting rate limited there! is there a way we can also update this api call?

Yeah, I agree — returning the ERC-1155 balance on each item would make this endpoint much more useful. The issue is that this cannot be fixed in the SDK alone: the documented getNFTsByAccount API response currently has no quantity or balance field, so the OpenSea API would need to add it first.

Until then, a lower-rate-limit workaround is to take the ERC-1155 (contract, tokenId) pairs returned by getNFTsByAccount, group them by contract, and call balanceOfBatch through your RPC provider. That gives you the current quantities with roughly one RPC call per contract instead of making one owners API request per token.

I think exposing quantity directly in the account NFTs response would be a reasonable feature request, especially since other NFT APIs already provide it.
