- Wake and power the hub.
- Move it closer to Home Assistant's Bluetooth adapter.
- Fully close the official Weber app.
- Select Scan Again.
- Press the physical hub button when it beeps.
- Ensure no phone or tablet owns Bluetooth.
- Keep the hub nearby for the full 90-second confirmation window.
- Power-cycle the hub after a decline and retry.
- Check the panel footer for a publishing error.
- Confirm the MQTT integration and broker are running.
- Reload MQTT entities if discovery was enabled after the add-on started.
- Allow the full five-minute association window.
- Keep the hub powered and connected to its existing Wi-Fi.
- Confirm any physical prompt.
- Select Test after setup completes.
- If appliance access is denied, remove that failed identity and repeat the bridge-owned pairing flow.
- Confirm the official app displays a current probe temperature.
- Start or resume a cook/recipe.
- Wait one or two configured poll intervals.
- An inactive session is intentionally reported as idle/stale.
Select Use Weber app, select Release Bluetooth, wait for Bluetooth available, then reopen the official app.
- Confirm Weber app access is enabled and passes Test.
- Start a guided recipe; a basic unguided probe target may not have an installed instruction program.
- Confirm the hub is online so the live companion request can complete.
- Review the panel's live-session error. REST probe history may continue even when the WebSocket is temporarily unavailable.
- If probe telemetry remains current, missing guidance may be a Weber companion limitation. Report your redacted model, firmware, app version, and region so the compatibility matrix can grow.
- Configure and test Weber app access.
- Turn on Remote cook controls in Settings.
- Confirm MQTT is connected and trusted.
- Confirm/stop are unavailable when no active cook is present.
When reporting a bug, include the add-on version, Home Assistant version, hub model, and redacted logs. Never attach credentials or full captures publicly.
