A hotfix for 0.2.0

Fixes

• Dim colours no longer flicker. On some docks colours next to red blinked every other frame. Temporal dithering flipped dim values back and forth across the point where the LEDs switch on, so it is now off by default. The option stays in Output settings.
• Output gamma now defaults to 1.4 instead of 2.2. A 50% checker of full and dark LEDs matches values around 150, which puts the dock's own curve close to gamma 1.4. With 2.2, mixed colours came out washed out, red looked thin and dim values landed right where the LEDs switch on.
• Preview as on the dock now follows the measured curve, including the values up to 8 that leave the LEDs dark.

New

• Band sharpness for Rainbow wave and Rainbow spiral: each colour holds a little longer and the blends between them pass quicker, so red, yellow and blue read as proper bands. 50% by default; 0% gives the old, perfectly even sweep.
• examples/dock-gamma-test.flyglow in the repository: a checker next to four grey levels for checking the curve of another dock. Compare at about 20% brightness.

Upgrading

Scenes keep the output settings they were saved with. For scenes made in 0.1.0 or 0.2.0, open Output settings, set gamma to 1.4 and turn dithering off.

• Тусклые цвета больше не мигают. На некоторых доках цвета рядом с красным мигали через кадр: временной дизеринг перебрасывал тусклые значения через порог, где диоды начинают светиться. Теперь он по умолчанию выключен, опция осталась в настройках вывода.
• Гамма вывода по умолчанию 1.4 вместо 2.2. Шахматка из полностью включённых и выключенных диодов совпадает по яркости со значениями около 150, то есть кривая дока близка к гамме 1.4. При 2.2 смешанные цвета выцветали, красный выглядел узким, а тусклые значения попадали прямо на порог включения диодов.
• Превью как на доке повторяет измеренную кривую, включая значения до 8, при которых диоды не горят.
• Чёткость полос у "Радужной волны" и "Радужной спирали": каждый цвет держится чуть дольше, переходы короче, красный, жёлтый и синий читаются полноценными полосами. По умолчанию 50%, при 0% прежний равномерный перелив.
• Обновление. Сцены хранят свои настройки вывода. Для сцен из 0.1.0 и 0.2.0 в настройках вывода поставить гамму 1.4 и выключить дизеринг.

FlyGlow 0.2.0

Shaders

• New Shader layer: paste a shader from Shadertoy (mainImage) and it plays on the dock. The GPU renders it and every LED averages its own hex cell of the frame.
• Uniforms: iResolution, iTime, iTimeDelta, iFrame, iDate, plus iPhase (0..1 through the loop) and iLoop (loop length in seconds). iMouse is always zero; iChannel textures and buffer passes are not supported yet.
• Shaders driven by iTime never repeat on their own, so the end of the loop crossfades into its start and the dock shows no seam. Shaders animated through iPhase loop by themselves; set the crossfade to 0 for them.
• Speed, zoom and shift controls to frame the part of the shader that works best on 162 LEDs.
• Brightness and saturation per shader layer, to fit a shader's colours to the dock.
• Seven built-in presets drawn for 162 LEDs (kaleidoscope, heartbeat, lava lamp, warp stars, synthwave, Pac-Man, rainbow rings), and shaders open from and save to .glsl files.
• Code editor with GLSL highlighting, line numbers and compile errors that jump to their line. Changes apply after a short pause in typing (Ctrl+Enter applies at once); while the code has errors, the last working version keeps playing.
• Requires OpenGL 3.3, which any GPU driver from the last decade provides.

Output

• Output gamma now defaults to 2.2. Tests on firmware 0.0.3.9 showed that the dock applies its own curve, close to gamma 2.2: values up to 8 leave the LEDs dark. 0.1.0 sent linear values on top of that curve, which crushed dark colours, cut the ends of fades short and squeezed dim scenes into a few shades. With 2.2 the LEDs follow the preview.
• Preview as on the dock (Output settings): the editor shows what the dock will actually play, with each frame held for the dock's step, the output gamma, the 8-bit levels, dithering and the dock's own curve. Problems in dark scenes show up before you upload.

Painting

• Mirror mode (M): brush, eraser, fill and layer area painting work on both halves of the dock at once.

Media

• "Import GIF / video" is now Import media: PNG and JPEG pictures, GIF, APNG and video, under a name that says so.
• WebP pictures and animations import now; 0.1.0 shipped without the plugin for them.
• Files with the wrong extension, like a WebP saved as .png by a stock image site, are recognised by their contents.

Fixes

• The eyedropper tooltip still described the old right click. Right click erases; Alt+click picks a colour with any tool.

Upgrading

.flyglow scenes from 0.1.0 open as they are, including the output gamma of 1.0 they were saved with: switch them to 2.2 in Output settings. The installer keeps your settings; for the portable build, copy the data folder from the old version next to the new FlyGlow.exe.

• Шейдеры. Новый слой "Шейдер": вставить шейдер с Shadertoy (mainImage), и он играет на доке. Рендер на видеокарте, каждый диод усредняет свою шестиугольную ячейку кадра. Шейдерам на iTime цикл замыкает кроссфейд, через iPhase цикл замыкается сам. Скорость, масштаб и сдвиг кадра, яркость и насыщенность, семь встроенных пресетов под 162 диода, открытие и сохранение .glsl, редактор кода с подсветкой, номерами строк и ошибками компиляции. Нужен OpenGL 3.3.
• Гамма вывода по умолчанию 2.2. Тесты на прошивке 0.0.3.9 показали, что док сам переводит значения в свет по кривой, близкой к гамме 2.2: значения до 8 диоды не зажигают. 0.1.0 слала линейные значения поверх этой кривой, и тёмные цвета проваливались, затухания обрезались, тусклые сцены сжимались в несколько оттенков. С 2.2 диоды повторяют превью.
• Превью как на доке (настройки вывода): редактор показывает то, что реально сыграет док, с шагом кадра дока, гаммой вывода, 8-битными уровнями, дизерингом и кривой самого дока. Проблемы в тёмных сценах видны до отправки.
• Зеркало (M): кисть, ластик, заливка и рисование области слоя работают сразу на обеих половинах дока.
• Импорт медиа вместо "Импорт GIF / видео": PNG и JPEG, GIF, APNG и видео. Добавлен WebP, картинки и анимации: в 0.1.0 не было плагина для него. Файлы с неверным расширением (например, WebP, сохранённый фотостоком как .png) распознаются по содержимому.
• Исправления. Подсказка пипетки описывала старый правый клик: теперь правый клик стирает, Alt+клик берёт цвет.
• Обновление. Сцены .flyglow из 0.1.0 открываются как есть, вместе с сохранённой гаммой вывода 1.0: переключить её на 2.2 в настройках вывода. Установщик сохраняет настройки, для portable-версии перенести папку data из старой версии.
