  • Async/Await Optimizations: Eliminated UI-blocking operations and improved reliability
    • ProfileManager: Replaced sync file reads with async operations (no more freezing on profile load)
    • PythonExtensionApi: Replaced 20-50+ sync filesystem checks with async parallel checks (faster Python environment discovery, especially on Windows)
    • PersistentExecutor: Fixed interval cleanup race condition (prevents memory leak)
    • KernelManager: Added error handling for failed kernel restarts (user now sees warnings instead of silent failures)
    • NotebookDiagnosticProvider: Fixed disposal race condition (prevents resource access after cleanup)
  • SQL Auto-Detect Loop: Fixed annoying issue where deleting %sql from a cell would cause it to immediately reappear when typing any character
  • Concurrent API/Function Calls: Parallelized sequential operations for better performance with notebook operations
  • JSON serialization for display(): Apply safe serialization with fallback for robust rendering and doesn't fail the process if one value is corrupted
