Commands and Permissions
Use /modseeker in game and modseeker without the leading slash in the server console. <value> means required input; [value] means optional input. Do not type the brackets.
Run /modseeker without arguments to see the subcommands your permissions allow. Tab completion filters those subcommands by permission and offers online player names for seek mod.
Every declared ModSeeker permission defaults to operators only. Console commands do not need player permissions. Grant individual permissions when someone needs only part of the command set.
| Permission | Access |
|---|---|
modseeker.admin |
All ModSeeker commands, subject to the GUI's console-only rule. |
modseeker.use |
Includes modseeker.command.status. |
modseeker.command.status |
View status. |
modseeker.command.seek |
Inspect a connected player's cached mod list. |
modseeker.command.modblacklist |
Add, remove and show blocked mod IDs. |
modseeker.command.modallowlist |
Add, remove and show approved mod hashes. |
modseeker.command.whitelist |
Manage verification bypasses. |
modseeker.command.gui |
Declared GUI permission; players still cannot run this command. |
modseeker.command.reload |
Reload settings and data. |
A management permission covers every action in that command group, including add and remove. There is no separate show-only permission for policy lists. Use seek and status permissions when a player only needs those inspection commands.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/modseeker status |
Shows verification settings, policy counts, launcher settings and player verification counts. |
/modseeker reload |
Reloads config, policy and launcher files; closes the GUI and schedules essential-hash refresh when advanced mode is selected. |
modseeker gui |
Server console only. Starts the appropriate blacklist or allowlist panel and prints its access link. |
Reload does not replace the plugin JAR or automatically recheck everyone already online. Restart Paper for a binary update.
/modseeker seek mod <player>
The player must be online and have a cached mod report. This command reads the cached report; it does not request a new scan. It shows top-level IDs. See Policies and Lists for bundled dependencies and report imports.
These commands are active in normal mode:
/modseeker modblacklist add <modId>
/modseeker modblacklist remove <modId>
/modseeker modblacklist show
/modseeker modblacklist add bucket
/modseeker modblacklist remove bucket
Use the mod ID, not a JAR filename or display name. bucket is a reserved bulk-action argument; its files belong in plugins/ModSeeker/bucket/.
These commands are active when advancedModVerification: true:
/modseeker modallowlist add <modrinth-link> <mcVersion>
/modseeker modallowlist add <player>
/modseeker modallowlist add <player> <reviewKey>
/modseeker modallowlist add bucket
/modseeker modallowlist remove <modrinth-link> <mcVersion>
/modseeker modallowlist remove <modId>
/modseeker modallowlist remove <player>
/modseeker modallowlist remove bucket
/modseeker modallowlist show
- Project link: the command resolves compatible Fabric releases for that Minecraft version. It can approve multiple releases. Use the GUI's version selection or your own bucket JARs to choose exact files.
- Player import: when the report contains new hashes, the first command prints those entries and a review key. Inspect them, then repeat with that key. A new report changes the key. If every hash is already approved, there is nothing to import.
- Removal by name: if the argument matches a cached player, the command removes that player's nonessential hashes. Otherwise it matches the stored entry label. Modrinth imports use the project slug; bucket and player imports use mod IDs. Check the reported removal result when names could overlap.
- Essential hashes: ordinary removal keeps entries marked essential.
show prints up to 60 entries and reports when more exist. Policies and Lists explains each import workflow and the bucket limits.
/modseeker whitelist add <player> [uuid]
/modseeker whitelist remove <player-or-uuid>
/modseeker whitelist show
This is ModSeeker's bypass whitelist, separate from Minecraft's server whitelist. A matching UUID skips launcher and mod verification.
Adding an online player activates that bypass immediately. Removing it affects later connections; ask the player to reconnect to test verification. Name-only addition resolves identity through Paper. Use the explicit UUID form when you need to select the exact identity, such as a correctly forwarded proxy player.
Successful policy commands save their changes immediately. Read the result before assuming an import, removal or whitelist change succeeded.
