Installation and Compatibility

Which file goes where?

Component Install it on Purpose
ModSeeker Paper server, in plugins/ Applies the server's policy
Hidder Player's Fabric instance, in mods/ Supplies verification reports
Fabric API The same client instance Provides Hidder's Fabric API dependency
Fabric Loader Selected in the client launcher Loads Hidder and the other Fabric mods

Hidder's native component requires Windows x64. This restriction applies to the player, not to the machine hosting Paper. Hidder does not support macOS, Linux, Windows ARM, Forge or NeoForge in this release.

Server builds

Paper family ModSeeker build Java
1.21.x modseeker-3.0.0+java21.jar 21
26.x modseeker-3.0.0+java25.jar 25

These are server families. Hidder's separate Minecraft targets below are not an exhaustive list of Paper patch versions.

Hidder builds

Use a separate Hidder JAR for each Minecraft target. Each v3 target supports Fabric Loader 0.19.3, 0.19.5 and 0.20.1.

Minecraft client Hidder filename Java
1.21 hidder-3.0.0+mc1.21.jar 21
1.21.4 hidder-3.0.0+mc1.21.4.jar 21
1.21.7 hidder-3.0.0+mc1.21.7.jar 21
1.21.8 hidder-3.0.0+mc1.21.8.jar 21
1.21.9 hidder-3.0.0+mc1.21.9.jar 21
1.21.10 hidder-3.0.0+mc1.21.10.jar 21
1.21.11 hidder-3.0.0+mc1.21.11.jar 21
26.1.2 hidder-3.0.0+mc26.1.jar 25
26.2 hidder-3.0.0+mc26.2.jar 25
26.3 hidder-3.0.0+mc26.3.jar 25

The mc26.1 filename targets 26.1.2, not every 26.1 patch. Fabric API must match the client's Minecraft version too. Choose an available file with the matching label on the release page.

A newer Fabric Loader is not automatically compatible with Hidder. Select one of the three supported versions in your launcher. Updating Fabric API does not change the Loader version.

Server installation

  1. Stop Paper and remove any older ModSeeker JAR from plugins/.
  2. Install one matching ModSeeker JAR and start Paper.
  3. Check its startup summary, then follow Quick Start.

Use a full server restart when replacing a plugin JAR. /modseeker reload reloads ModSeeker's settings and lists; it does not install a new binary.

Client installation

  1. Create or edit a Fabric instance in the launcher. Select the Minecraft and Loader versions first.
  2. Download Hidder and Fabric API for that Minecraft version.
  3. Put one copy of each JAR in that instance's mods/ folder.
  4. Launch the instance, then connect to the server.

Players using release JARs do not need compilers, a separate OpenSSL installation or a virtual machine. A native initialization error still needs investigation; see Troubleshooting.

Hidder has no player commands or policy settings screen. It initializes its native library when the client starts, announces its presence on connection, and responds to the server's verification requests. The server owner configures the rules. Client-side failures are recorded in that instance's log.

Matched builds

Use compatible ModSeeker and Hidder releases. Official and custom-built pairs use different client identities; keep a custom Hidder build with its matching custom ModSeeker build.
