🔬 Preview Release (v0.13.0-preview.1)

⚠️ This is a preview release — Features are experimental and may change. Please report any issues!

This release reworks how tool calls appear in the transcript: results are rendered in full, calls collapse to a single row by default, and permission review moves to an overlay above the input box.

🌟 New:

• 🧩 Standard Tool Content: Tool results are no longer dropped — text output, images, audio, links, and embedded resources returned by the agent are rendered inside the tool call, with raw output shown as a collapsed fallback when no structured content is available. (Support standard ACP content blocks in tool call results #386)
• 📁 Collapsed Tool Calls: Each tool call is now a single frameless row (kind, title, status) that expands on click or via keyboard. Image results stay visible as thumbnails beside the row, and expanded output keeps live terminals running while collapsed. (feat: collapse tool calls and move permission review above the input #390)
• 🔐 Permission Review Above the Input: Permission requests now appear as an overlay floating above the input box instead of inside the scrolling transcript, showing the command about to run or the diff about to be applied, with a count of queued requests. (feat: collapse tool calls and move permission review above the input #390)
• 📋 Plan Strip: The agent's task plan moved out of the transcript into a collapsible strip under the chat header, showing progress at a glance without pushing messages around. (Move the plan display into a collapsible strip under the header #402)
• 💾 Tool Results in Chat Export: Exported Markdown now includes tool result text, links, and resources, and saves tool result images and audio as attachments the same way user attachments are handled. New "Include audio" settings mirror the existing image export options. (Export tool result content to markdown (text, images, audio, links, resources) #412)
• 🤖 Pi Preset: Pi is now a preset agent via the pi-acp adapter, with a setup page and install hint. Pi manages its own provider credentials, so no API key setting is needed. (Add Pi (pi-acp) as a preset agent #404)
• 🪟 Toggle All Floating Chats: New "Toggle all floating chat views" command minimizes every floating window while any is open and brings them all back otherwise, so one hotkey takes you to the editor and back. A "Minimize all floating chats" item was also added to the floating window's ⋮ menu. (Add a minimize all to the floating chat window #410)
• 🔄 Remembered History Filters: The session history filters ("Show current vault only" and "Hide sessions without local data") are now remembered across opens and restarts, and the list opens already filtered the way you left it. (Feature request: persist the session history filter checkbox states #406)

🔧 Improvements:

• 🎨 Consistent Block Typography: Thinking blocks are no longer italic, and diff and terminal text now follow the chat font size setting instead of a fixed 12px, so all message blocks scale together. (Scale diffs and terminals with the chat font size and drop the italics #413)
• 🎨 Word Diff Highlights: Removed the strikethrough from deleted-word highlights; color and weight alone mark the change, which reads more clearly around whitespace. (Show the real file text in word-level diff highlights #408)

🐛 Fixes:

• 📝 Word-Level Diff Accuracy: Fixed deleted lines being rendered with the added line's whitespace (e.g. a task-list edit - [ ] → - [x] showed as - []), wrong word highlights pairing unrelated lines in multi-line replacements, a phantom "No newline at end of file" line, and an extra empty line at the end of new-file diffs. (Show the real file text in word-level diff highlights #408)
• 🔐 Zombie Permission Dialog: Fixed the permission dialog staying open after the agent process crashed; pending requests are now cancelled when the process exits. (Cancel pending permissions when the agent process dies #409)
• 🔄 Stale Permission Requests: Fixed permission prompts from a previous run reappearing when loading a saved session. (feat: collapse tool calls and move permission review above the input #390)
• 🪟 Floating Chat Font Size: Fixed the font size setting having no effect in floating chat windows, which also rendered at 15px instead of the default 14px. (Apply the chat font size setting in the floating chat #411)
• 🔗 Wrapper Agents Not Finding Their CLI: Fixed agents installed under an absolute path (as set by Auto-detect) failing to start their companion CLI on macOS and Linux — e.g. "Could not start pi: executable not found" — by adding the agent's own directory to PATH. (Add Pi (pi-acp) as a preset agent #404)
• ⚙ Settings Scroll Reset: Fixed the settings tab jumping back to the top whenever a toggle or dropdown re-rendered it. (fix(settings): keep the scroll position across a settings re-render #401)

🚀 Upgrade:

Update from v0.12.1. No configuration changes needed.

⚠️ If you previously ran Pi as a custom agent with the id pi-acp, that custom entry is renamed to pi-acp-2 to make room for the preset. Copy any custom path or environment variables into the preset settings, then delete the leftover custom entry.
