Still getting everything to work properly after uploading them. Will need to download the files and run in an IDE to see games in action
A top-down adventure game inspired by The Legend of Zelda, built three times in different languages as a learning exercise to understand how the same game logic translates across languages and environments.
The original version. Uses MVC (Model-View-Controller) architecture to separate game logic, rendering, and input handling.
To run:
There is a build.bat file in the code subfolder that you can use to compile and run
A browser-based port of the Java version. Runs directly in the browser — no install needed. Uses an HTML5 canvas and a drag-and-drop JSON map loader to place sprites. It will initially just show link in a blank map but there is a map that you can drag and drop. This will populate the area with a premade map that has trees as the border and chests.
To run: Open game.html in a browser.
The most feature completed version. Adds Cuccos (chickens) that bounce around the map and attack Link if provoked too many times and has everything else from the previous version. The Cuccos are still a work in progress as they can get stuck or don't reset properly throughout the game.
To run:
pip install pygame
python game.py
- Move Link with the arrow keys
- Throw a boomerang with the spacebar
- Open treasure chests to collect rupees by hitting with a boomerang
- Hit Cuccos with the boomerang too many times and they'll swarm you
- Press
Eto enter edit mode and place trees, chests, and Cuccos on the map - Press
Sto save the map,Lto load it,Cto clear it
