First public release of Gem — the free, context-aware clipboard manager for macOS.

Highlights

  • ⌘⇧V glassy bottom panel over any app
  • Context-aware cards: code (auto syntax highlighting), markdown, links, colors, images
  • Pinboards: organize snippets into named boards
  • Optional AI titles — bring your own OpenAI, Gemini or Anthropic key (stored encrypted, local-only)
  • History retention control (default 7 days); pins and boards are kept forever

Install (Apple Silicon)

  1. Download and unzip Gem-macOS-arm64.zip
  2. Move Gem.app to Applications
  3. First launch: right-click → Open (the app is not yet notarized), or run
    xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Gem.app
  4. Grant Accessibility permission so ↵ can paste into the frontmost app
