Public Alpha 0.1.10 Table Tools Expansion

This update expands the practical table-running workflow with faster combat setup, dedicated location mapping, focused loot prep, and calmer spell selection.

Added

  • Encounter Tracker preloaded Red Vellum-original enemy templates for quick combat starts.
  • Minimize/expand controls for combatants in the initiative order so long encounters stay readable.
  • Dedicated Locations tab with plane/world/region/city/point-of-interest layering, parent locations, map pins, and nearby/contained location panels.
  • Dedicated Loot & Items tab for prepping SRD-safe equipment, Creator Forge gear, treasure, clue items, and assigning items to player sheet inventories.
  • Character Creator spell lists are now collapsible by spell level.

Changed

  • Locations and loot are now first-class navigation items instead of being buried in the general Codex.
  • The general Campaign Codex is now focused on flexible quest, timeline, and secret records.
  • Version-aligned frontend, Tauri, Cargo, and package metadata for the 0.1.10 installer.

Public Alpha 0.1.9 SRD Creator Data Expansion

This update expands the built-in Character Creator dropdown data using SRD 5.2.1 / Creative Commons-compatible spell and feat references.

Added

  • 339 SRD spell references with level, class availability, school, casting metadata, components, duration, concentration, and ritual flags where available.
  • 17 SRD feat references across Origin, General, Fighting Style, and Epic Boon categories.
  • Version-aligned frontend, Tauri, Cargo, and package metadata for the 0.1.9 installer.

Notes

  • Built-in spell and feat data remains metadata-focused and does not bundle copied spell or feat rules text.
  • D&D Beyond import remains user-supplied and local-only.

Public Alpha 0.1.4 NPC Manager Cleanup

This update removes the experimental NPC Dossier interface after early feedback and returns NPCs to the simpler manager layout.

Changed

  • Removed the custom NPC Dossier panel.
  • Restored NPC details to the standard structured field grid.
  • Kept the useful additional NPC fields such as Story Function, Residence, Public Reputation, Private Reality, Daily Life, Current Pressures, Wounds and Regrets, and What They Know.

Public Alpha 0.1.3 NPC Dossier Upgrade

This update turns NPC records into structured dossiers while keeping quick NPCs lightweight.

Added

  • NPC Dossier mode with collapsible Identity, Roleplay, Story Pressure, Knowledge, Relationships, Daily Life, and Custom Sections.
  • Quick NPC / Major NPC dossier controls, with Major NPC automatically tagging the record as major.
  • Custom NPC sections with DM/party/specific-player visibility and searchable related-record links.
  • Paste Dossier import for structured notes with headings like Role, Personality, What They Know, Current Pressures, Player-Visible Notes, and DM Notes.

Changed

  • NPC details now use the dossier layout instead of one flat field grid.
  • Important NPC character sheets remain available under the dossier for stat-heavy NPCs.

Public Alpha 0.1.2 Logo Refresh

This update refreshes the VellumVault product logo across the app, public download page, and Windows desktop installer assets.

Changed

  • Replaced the previous temporary VellumVault SVG marks with the finalized VellumVault app logo.
  • Updated the public download page hero, header mark, privacy page mark, and 404 page mark.
  • Regenerated the configured Windows/Tauri icon assets from the finalized VellumVault logo.

Public Alpha 0.1.1 Release Candidate

This release candidate focuses on making VellumVault feel like a personal desktop application that can be shared with other Dungeon Masters for cautious testing.

Known Limitations

  • Attachments are stored locally inside app/browser storage and are not yet included in JSON backups.
  • Attachment export/import should be added before broad public release.
  • The app is 5e-compatible and unofficial; it does not bundle rules text.
  • Public screenshots and migration tests should be added before opening it widely.

Recommended Verification

Run these from the project folder:

npm run build

Then install the generated NSIS or MSI bundle from .tools/target/release/bundle.
