Pylon Touch: Getting Started

What is Pylon Touch?

Pylon Touch is a simple, intuitive restaurant order management system for the hospitality and catering sector. Pylon Touch allows you to receive, track and fulfill orders, as well as issue receipts. You can access the Touch Explorer after logging in with the credentials provided by your administrator. This document will guide you through the basic features of the program, as well as a basic ordering process.

Overview of Pylon Touch

The Touch Explorer is made up of six sections, as illustrated below:

Section Title Description
1. Order List Items added from the menu will appear here. The Order List includes information including Item quantity, Item price and Total price.
2. Actions Allows the user to change the quantity of items ordered, delete an item, cancel the order, change the price or apply a discount.
3. Table Information This section displays table information as well as the client's details, such as the room number, if applicable.
4. Tables Overview A graphic representation of all the restaurant's tables.
5. Menu Offers access to all the menu items, as categorized by the administrator.
6. Payment and Printing Actions Allows the user to fulfill orders by cash or credit card, or apply room charges. Invoices and receipts are issued from this menu. An unofficial bill can also be printed.

Prerequisites

Before starting to take an order, you must have selected an employee through the employee selection menu.

Taking the Order

  1. First, select a table by simply clicking on it in the Tables Overview section.
