Migrate Subgraph hosting from Alchemy to alternative provider before December 8, 2025

Problem

Alchemy Subgraphs sunset on December 8, 2025. All subgraphs and query endpoints will be spun down, requiring migration to maintain indexing functionality.

Current dependencies on Alchemy Subgraphs:

• Request Network SDK
• Hasura GraphQL Gateway (upstream to Request Scan and Request Network API)
• Request Invoicing application (decommissioned - see #64)

Migration Status

• Hasura GraphQL Gateway (staging + production)
• Request Invoicing (decommissioned - no migration needed)
• Request Network SDK

Proposed Solution

Migrate to TheGraph Subgraph Studio as the primary subgraph hosting provider.

Rationale:

• Proven reliability and ecosystem maturity
• Native support for all networks used by Request Network
• Established migration path from Alchemy
• Cost-effective for our query volume

Rejected alternative: Goldsky (Alchemy's recommended partner) — decided against due to added complexity of migrating to a new provider when Subgraph Studio already meets our needs.

Progress Update (December 4, 2025)

✅ Completed

• Hasura (Staging & Production): Migrated all remote schemas to Subgraph Studio
  • Updated to Bearer token authorization format (previously URL-embedded API keys)
  • Added new price-aggregators subgraphs
  • Domain authorization list not used since API keys aren't exposed on frontend

🔲 Remaining

• Request Network SDK: Update to use new Subgraph Studio endpoints
• Request Invoicing: Update to use new endpoints (can use domain authorization list for frontend access)

Update on Request Invoicing dependency:

Request Invoicing has been fully sunset and decommissioned as of December 10, 2025. See RequestNetwork/invoicing-template#115.

This removes Request Invoicing from the list of services that need to be migrated to the new subgraph provider. The remaining dependencies are:
