Welcome! GenX-DOS is a browser DOS prompt that boots a self-hosted suite of classic 8-bit machines — type a number at the C:\> and a BBC Micro, C64, MSX, Spectrum, Vectrex (and 27 others) starts up in a CRT bezel. Nothing to install, nothing fetched at runtime.

What goes where

• Something broken? Open an issue — the bug template asks for the four things that make it reproducible.
• Ideas — suggest a system or a game swap here in Discussions. The scope rule is 8-bit feel: sprite-based, chiptune, low-res. Check the Roadmap first; a fair few candidates have already been investigated.
• Q&A — stuck on controls, saves, or getting a game going? Ask away. Every game also has its own instructions page via the corner controls link.
• Show and tell — high scores, Elite trade routes, screenshots of the prompt somewhere unexpected. Yes please.
