I think it's a good idea. Giving players the ability to pick their own categories would mean that people could "quarantine" peak streak into it's own category for example, or have truly cohesive walls badge wise. It may also help slow computers load the profile if the categories are collapsed by default (and the achievements inside not loaded until the category is maximized). |

One tricky problem is this may reinforce us loading hundreds of awards on every profile hit. This is something with a potential The direction we ultimately want to go is showing "up to N" awards (N can be some reasonable limit, maybe 200), and a "See more" button to see everything. Right now, server-side memory consumption on some user profiles is far too high. |

Wow, this banner idea is fantastic! How about this for an idea:
So overall, it gives the art team more fun stuff to do, it gives people rewards for their masteries (both individual and total), it resolves a longstanding overhead issues with page-loading, and it makes the mastery system more interactive and fun to use. tl;dr We limit total rows but use category-based banners to hide badges til they're clicked on so you can still display everything and it's pretty. |

Uh oh!

I had an idea to optimize the game awards wall for a better overview which mostly affects users with many mastery badges.
Giving users the option to create own categories that can be collapsed, I've made a picture and maybe you understand what I want to tell you: Game Awards wall.
What do you guys think about it?
