Using additional_dependencies does not work

As opposed to other similar pre-commit hooks such mypy, ruff or pylint, pyright one seems to not be able to recognize additional_dependencies and thus produce false positive reports about such reportMissingImports.

How can we configure it to avoid this?

Does additional_dependencies match everything you install in your local env?

I'm guessing you're in a situation where you either:

• don't have a virtual environment
• can't access the venv from CI

If you don't have a virtual environment at all, how are you managing isolation of dependencies? e.g. what is the environment your source project is running from? where does it get its dependencies from?
I've found using additional_dependencies: ["-rrequirements.txt"] to work just fine if all dependencies your project needs are listed there.

If you do have a virtual environment, I'd suggest using it for pre-commit as explained in the README.
If your virtual environment is setup correctly and dependencies installed to the .venv are not showing up, something more complicated might be broken with pyright (e.g. a broader or different problem than just dependencies).
Random aside, is it possible reportMissingImports are coming from non-dependencies? Are they all from pip packages?
