So an idea is to provide a self-signed CA issuer by default or optionally one provided via secret.
My view is that external authority in air-gapped wouldn't weight at all, since everything internal, including CA. Downside is we can't propagate trust across clients without internal guidance. But I don't think insecure connection is acceptable
