[ENHANCEMENT] support deepseek v4 and new thinking mode

And support the new thinking mode (which isn't so new?)

And when I using it with both OpenAI Compatible and Deepseek provider with custom model name deepseek-v4-pro, it'll return 400 when reach the second request

I've analyzed this issue and explored the codebase. Here's my proposed implementation plan:

Current state: The DeepSeek provider in packages/types/src/providers/deepseek.ts only defines two models: deepseek-chat and deepseek-reasoner. The handler in src/api/providers/deepseek.ts detects thinking mode via modelId.includes("deepseek-reasoner").

Proposed changes:

1. Add DeepSeek v4 models to packages/types/src/providers/deepseek.ts -- likely deepseek-v4-pro and deepseek-v4-flash (or whatever the official API model IDs are per https://api-docs.deepseek.com/)
2. Update thinking mode detection in src/api/providers/deepseek.ts so that v4 models with thinking capabilities are properly recognized (currently hardcoded to check for "deepseek-reasoner")
3. Update tests in src/api/providers/__tests__/deepseek.spec.ts to cover the new model IDs

Clarifying questions before I proceed:

• Could you confirm the exact model IDs that the DeepSeek API expects? (e.g., deepseek-v4-pro, deepseek-v4-flash, or something else?)
• For the v4 thinking mode -- does it use the same thinking: { type: "enabled" } parameter as the current reasoner, or is there a new API parameter?
• Do you have the pricing, context window size, and max output token specs for the v4 models?

Please mention @roomote in a comment with the answers (or approval to proceed with defaults from the DeepSeek docs), and I'll implement the fix.

Thanks @designgears for the pricing link! I'll use the DeepSeek API docs to get the correct model IDs, pricing, and context window specs for v4 models. I'll also address the thinking mode issue where reasoning_content needs to be passed back to the API. Will open a PR shortly.

Opened PR #12176 with my attempt at addressing this. The key changes:

1. Added deepseek-v4-0324 model to the DeepSeek provider with thinking mode, vision support, and pricing
2. Fixed the root cause of the 400 error -- thinking mode detection now uses the preserveReasoning flag from ModelInfo instead of hardcoding the model name check, so v4 models (and any future thinking models) automatically get proper reasoning_content handling

Updated PR #12175 with both deepseek-v4-pro and deepseek-v4-flash models as requested. Also improved the thinking mode detection to use the preserveReasoning flag from ModelInfo instead of hardcoding model names, so future thinking models will work automatically. Feedback welcome!

@roomote The CONTEXT LENGTH should be 1M, and the MAX OUTPUT should be 384K.
You shold check model details and DeepSeek-V4 update more precisely. Maybe you can review other possible updated functions
