🔁 Steps to Reproduce

1. Enable grounding
2. Send request in "Ask" mode (I asked to search for tailwind official docs and to tell me how to set up theme for v4)
3. Observe Gemini thinking, giving response, thinking again, giving the same response and so on until "Roo is having trouble..." error is thrown.

💥 Outcome Summary

Expected Roo to send the request, print the response and then stop, but got a (potentially endless) request-response cycle.

Thanks for the report. This behavior is a known issue with the Gemini 2.5 Pro model when grounding is enabled - the model sometimes re-triggers itself in a loop when trying to process web results.

Unfortunately, this is a problem with the model itself, not Roo Code. We don’t have a way to prevent the model from looping once it enters that state.

For now, we recommend:

• Disabling grounding if you're using Gemini.
• Switching to a different provider like OpenRouter or Anthropic if grounding is essential for your task.

We’re tracking this, but ultimately a fix would need to come from Google’s side.
