Feature Request: reuse a class defined in another exercise

I would like to create two exercises and use the class defined in one exercise inside the other. In previous versions, I was able to handle this with :include.
However, after upgrading to the visual interface, that approach no longer seems to work.
Could you please advise on the recommended way to achieve this now?

You have the option to have both hidden prefix code and hidden suffix code, so although it would be duplicating class definition, you could put it in the hidden prefix.

Also, not sure what language you are using for your course but you can include additional java files as datafiles.

I understand that it’s possible to predefine a class or method using hidden prefix code. However, I would like students to implement a method in the first exercise and then call that method in a second exercise, with the method name fixed but each student’s implementation possibly different.
It seems that this cannot be achieved through prefix code alone. Additionally, my exercises are in Python, and the prefix code does not support :include.
Is there a recommended way to achieve this behavior?

Even with include there was never a way to include a students previous answer as part of another exercise.

It seems like what you want to do is have unit tests to test the students implementation of the method in the first question.

It seemed to work before when both exercises were placed in the same practice and loaded on the same page at the same time, although I am not sure whether that was an officially supported workflow or just an unintended side effect.
And yes, my intention is for the second exercise to act more as a test of whether the class and method from the first exercise have been implemented correctly.
