[Bug]Tomodachi life: living the dream keyboard input freezing if text gets too long

• I am confident that my issue has not been reported already in open OR closed issues.
• I am able to reliably reproduce the issue on the latest stable or canary version.
• I am not using an unofficial build (Flatpak, Emudeck, etc.).
• I am a silly goose and didn't read these boxes.
• I am a silly goose and DID read these boxes.

Description of the issue

When prompted to write text, the emulator's keyboard input will freeze and become unresponsive if the text gets too long for the text box. The game is still running in the back, the music still playing, but the keyboard input is frozen and won't respond, even when pressing the keys to escape the input mode. When restarting the game, if prompted to type again, it will freeze again since the text remains from last time, making it impossible to progress in game if we are asked to write something.

Reproduction steps

The easiest way is to go to customise a mii character and go to the face paint editor.
There, if not already, select the pro mode.
There is a ''T'' button on top of the screen to write text.
Write something until the text box is full
The keyboard input freezes then
When restarting the emulation and doing the above steps again, the keyboard input will already be frozen.

Strangely enough, I notice this only happens sometimes, seemingly without a clear pattern I can understand. Seems like sometimes it'll just wrap back to the first letter (which I presume is intended behavior) but sometimes will just freeze. Didn't see anything in my log, as the game itself didn't freeze.

I'm having this same exact issue! i tried pressing z (confirm) when the text box has reached its limit, but it won't confirm it for me, so i tried spamming it, for a moment it freezes with input lag so then i restarted the game. but when i did, the excess texts from my play session before won't leave the text box for every part that has text boxes in it (Names, Nicknames, Quotes, Catchphrase, etc.) D:

this happened to me. when i changed my island name the text going off the screen didnt show up. but im unsure how or if that was the fix

Not sure if you have the same issue and solution, but I got stuck on this same thing without being able to progress. My solution was, because the input from my keyboard just didn't show up until after I restarted the game, I was able to just back space a bunch of times. Then I restarted my game and repeated until it was blank again.

Got this exact issue as well, I was quite confused because it didn't freeze last time. Froze on trying to add a new expression to a Mii when text exceeded the limit.
