do you plan to support Jackson3 for the data generation?

Hi @floriandreher,

Jackson 3 is on our radar and we are evaluating support. But we do not yet have a decision or roadmap for it. Thus, we can at this point in time make no promises regarding support for it in the future.

Please note Jackson 2 is still supported.

You can use Jackson 2 and Jackson 3 in parallel. There shouldn't be an issue. If you find any incompatibilities or vulnerability/support issues. Please let us know.

Spring Boot 4 ships Jackson 3 as the default.
So to work with SAP Cloud SDK entities, you have to configure and maintain a separate Jackson 2 ObjectMapper.

It works, but it would be easier if the SDK provided Jackson 3-compatible serializers so that everything can be handled by the same objectmapper.

I have difficulties to understand your concrete concern.
Jackson 2 and Jackson 3 can be seen as two completely distinct libraries.

Personally I would also prefer if we switched to Jackson 3 completely, but that's not possible without breaking changes and potential incompatibilities for legacy users.
