The workflow was broken because `ubuntu-latest` changed from Ubuntu 22.04 to 24.04, and the latter doesn't have Python 3.7. I pinned to using Ubuntu 22.04 so we can continue using Python 3.7.
There doesn't appear to be any breaking changes, so we should pull in updates.

The CI job failed when merging #98 because
ubuntu-latestchanged. This workflow is a lot harder to test, but I encountered and fix the same error message in the same way on my previous PR.
