I am trying to run faster-whisper locally and every time I run the script I get this:

Detected language 'en' with probability nan
[0.00s -> 2.42s] !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have the same problem on cuda 12.6(from torch), specifically float16 compute_type.

When it happens, it always outputs 224 exclamation marks (token id 0)

I found that downgrading to torch with cuda 12.4 solves this:

1. pip3 uninstall torch torchvision torchaudio - uninstalls torch from previous source (e.g. --index-url https://download.pytorch.org/whl/cu126)
2. pip3 install torch torchvision torchaudio installs default torch which is 2.6.0 with cuda 12.4
