Welcome to the official community discussion space for SmoothBoot.
I wanted to open up this thread to share some important updates regarding the current direction of the project, recent safety improvements, and how we can work together to make this plugin better.

🧪 Current Project Status: Hobby & Experimental Testing

I want to be completely candid with the community: SmoothBoot is currently a personal hobby project meant strictly for testing and experimentation. It is developed using an AI-assisted workflow where I direct the feature concepts, architecture, and security goals, while an AI CLI tool helps generate and structure the Java code.
Because of this fast-paced development style, some early low-level optimization tweaks turned out to be too aggressive for public setups. This is exactly why the latest builds are kept strictly here on GitHub as SNAPSHOT/ALPHA versions and have not been pushed to Modrinth yet. The version currently on Modrinth is maintained as a stable, conservative, and safe build for production servers.

🛠️ Recent Safety & Stability Updates (v1.2.7-ALPHA)

Thanks to valuable technical feedback from our community members, we have just pushed an update to v1.2.7-ALPHA to significantly improve server stability and remove risky code:

• SecurityScanner Refactoring: We completely removed the aggressive Bukkit.shutdown() command. The scanner now logs severe warnings and enters a "restricted mode" instead of forcing a server halt. The file scanner has also been dialed back to minimize false positives.
• NetworkOptimizer Reversion: Dangerous low-level Netty tweaks (checkBounds and checkAccessible) have been entirely removed. They are now reverted to safe, default settings to ensure network stability and proper diagnostic capabilities.
• Configuration Cleanup: The unused fast-packet-serialization setting has been removed from config.yml to prevent confusion.
