0.8.0.rc3 adds “Sync clock when returning to game” under System, so the emulated clock can catch up after suspension. This option can also be disabled. |

Uh oh!

When the device is suspended—for example, by closing the lid on the AYN Thor—the emulator’s RTC clock stops advancing. After resuming, the clock does not synchronize with the host device’s current time unless the game is closed and reopened.
This causes problems in games that use the RTC as part of their gameplay, such as Animal Crossing and the Pokémon games, where the in-game time is expected to match real-world time.
For example, if I am playing Animal Crossing, close the lid, and resume the device several hours later, the game still shows the time from when the lid was closed. Ideally, the emulator would update the RTC to match the host device’s clock when resuming from suspension.
This exact feature was previously requested in the upstream melonDS repository:
melonDS-emu/melonDS#2589
It was later implemented in melonDS through the following commit, which added an option to synchronize the emulated RTC with the host clock:
melonDS-emu/melonDS@0a65c37
Other users have reported the same issue:
Would it be possible to bring this RTC synchronization option to this fork of melonDS-android?
