Clicking on a search result in "Property combo search" should add it

At the moment, clicking on a search result merely auto-fills it, but still requires the user to press Return or click the "+" button. I found this confusing, because I didn't understand why clicking "Search" didn't work after I had clicked on the property. This would be solved by making clicking on the search result add it automatically.

This was indeed not very intuitive, thank you for bringing this up. I have made a potential fix in 2aa0cec.

It is much better now: when you input a valid item, it automatically gets added. Much less friction, much more intuitive, much faster! The change also applies to the comparison page; the same component is being used.

There is an issue, though. It works fine on the comparison page. But on the search page, when inputting properties, some properties start with others:

finitely complete --> finite
etc.

connected limits --> connected
etc.

So when the user wants to input "connected limits", the UI adds "connected", which is wrong.

As a quick fix, I have debounced the input handler. When the input is valid and did not change for 500ms, only then the item is added to the selection. This should give most users enough time to write what they had in mind. Maybe not every user though, so this is an accessibility concern.

I don't like the initial idea of automatically adding the text of the input when clicking the submit button.

• It is not clear to the user that the item has been added.
• Maybe it was not the intent of the user. Maybe they only wanted to submit the search (or comparison) with the selected items.

I will keep this issue open for you to confirm that this fixed the issue.
