Network Design

I plan on running SO as a VM on a server that will also host all the other server VMs. I know this isn't best practice, but I'm working with what I have. Maybe one day I'll get a separate, dedicated machine.

Anyway, for a while now, my network diagram has had a big ? next to the SO VM. What IP to give it? I've come to realise that it should be on a separate VLAN to all the other servers. I don't think it should be on the same VLAN as all the servers. Is this correct?

If you would like to have an answer - you have to provide more information about your setup. At least - type of your SO node. What kind of events it will collect and from where?
And read before posting :)
