Authentication with SDK

Due to recent exploits around basic auth accounts, we are considering the deprecation of basic auth accounts and only offer OAuth authentication through the SDK starting in 4.9 release. This will cause some issues with developers that are using Basic auth as they would have to switch over their saved authentications, and possibly get OAuth configured on their instances if they have not done so yet.

Before we enforce this change to the SDK, I wanted to get a poll of developers and what style of auth they are currently using. Also if you are unable to use OAuth, if you could let me know why that can be helpful in our consideration before release.

Do you have any documentation on how to setup OAuth connections on a PDI?

If you choose oauth when setting up the auth aliases, a browser window will open in the instance. From there, you click Allow, and then you will get a token that you copy and then paste into the commandline, and then that's it. You will then be using the user who was signed into the instance.
