Home Assistant integration
Install Remote Screens through HACS as a custom repository of type Integration, restart Home Assistant, and accept the discovered add-on. Update the integration separately from the add-on and player APK. Restart Home Assistant after an integration update to load changed Python modules.
Each screen provides controls for brightness, dark mode, standby, night mode, back-to-home, page, kiosk lock, and proximity/face wake. Tablet devices expose hardware sensors, diagnostics, and optional location tracking. See the user guide for sensor reporting and location permissions.
Actions:
-
remote_screens.send_notification: silent banners or alerts, explicit tablet/screen targets, optional wake, and per-tablet delivery results. See Device-notifications. -
remote_screens.show_alert: legacy alerts with the existing defaults and wake behavior. -
remote_screens.open_page,remote_screens.wake,remote_screens.close: navigation and screen controls.
Event fallbacks remain remote_screens_alert, remote_screens_open_page, remote_screens_wake, and
remote_screens_close. Alert buttons fire remote_screens_alert_action.
The integration also supplies the dashboard intercom card and its signaling bridge. See Intercom.
