Description

SharePoint Change Explorer turns SharePoint version history into review intelligence.

For 25 years, SharePoint has been excellent at storing document versions. But for many enterprise scenarios, version history alone was never enough. Reviewers still had to open versions manually, work out what changed, understand why it matters, and decide what needs attention before approval.

SharePoint Change Explorer closes that gap with a SharePoint-native, version-aware review experience directly inside the document library. The solution compares the current document against a previous SharePoint version, extracts structured content from the real file versions, computes deterministic changes, and then uses Azure OpenAI to explain those changes in the language of the document.

The result is a reviewer-friendly experience with grouped changes, risk indicators, multilingual summaries, and business-focused explanations instead of raw file diffs. Our core principle is simple: deterministic comparison proves, AI explains.

The solution is built with SPFx for the SharePoint user experience and Azure Functions for the comparison pipeline, using SharePoint version history, Azure Document Intelligence, and Azure OpenAI.

Beyond the library UI, the same capability is designed to be reusable in approvals, workflow actions, and persisted review metadata for document-centric processes across SharePoint.
