Hi @sheinb -- I'm hoping this PR makes the build better, but it should not be introducing any behavioral changes. I set up git submodules to document and obtain dependencies, and I started using CPack to create a .deb package with libs and headers, instead of an ad-hoc .zip file like I was doing before.
At the moment I'm thinking:
PS I did some cmake formatting to have 4 spaces of indenting. Sorry, this created some diff noise.
