What is Void?

Void is a 2D game framework for .NET that gives you the essential building blocks: rendering, assets, input, audio, saving, pathfinding, coroutines, and logging. It sits between monolithic engines that do everything and bare frameworks that do nothing.

Key Features

  • Asset protection with AES-GCM encryption and custom pack format
  • Batched sprite and primitive rendering with automatic texture atlasing
  • Texture atlasing with automatic packing, defragmentation, and LRU eviction
  • Custom save system with AES-GCM encryption, manifest verification, and type tracking
  • Mod support with mount-based virtual file system
  • A* pathfinding with flow fields for crowd movement
  • Coroutine system with tweens, sequences, delays, and conditionals
  • Full LDtk level editor support with entities, tilesets, and custom fields
  • Nine-patch rendering for scalable UI elements
  • Post-processing with shader-based effects
  • Text rendering with bitmap fonts, alignment, wrapping, and nine-patch support
  • Asset packing CLI for building encrypted asset packs
  • Zero-GC input system with keyboard, mouse, and gamepad support
  • Audio pooling with priority-based voice stealing and category volumes
  • Cross-platform support for Windows, macOS, and Linux
  • MIT licensed and open source

Quick Install

dotnet add package Void.Engine

Who is it for?

Game developers using .NET who want a lightweight, extensible foundation without fighting an engine or rebuilding solved problems.
