Wrap In

Wrap In is a little script that is aimed at mobile users who want to be able to add and extend the things available at a button press. For example, on ipad to get a ``` is quite annoying and time consuming. More practically, there's my real reason for using this:

I only use asterisks for bold.
I only use underscores for italics.

• There is no underscore italic command or toolbar button.

So here ya go. It's not perfect but has the following features:

1. Select from:
   • Italic (underscores)
   • Bold (asterisks)
   • Code (backticks)
   • Single Quotes
   • Double Quotes
   • Single Brackets
   • Double Brackets
   • CUSTOM - This is only implemented in a half-measure. You can have it surround the words with anything but if you need differing start and end symbols, it wont work.
2. Prompts a user to enter something if nothing selected.
3. Inserts the desired thing into the note and adds a space too.

Disable the spacing behavior by setting addSpace to false in the code.

• Takes the selected lines, and puts a cursor at the front of all of them.
• Change a bunch of stuff easily and without needing to regex your brain to pieces and lament the absence of native keyboard customizations ¹

Footnotes

1. For anybody else on the iPad also dismayed that they don't have any type of useful keyboard customization available, download the Apple native Japanese handwriting keyboard from the settings of your device.
   You go to Keyboard → Add new keyboard → select a language and choose → Japanese handwriting I am being dead serious, there are some amazing features on it and I use it all the time. It easily interprets both regularboy sloppy writing, AND prettyboy cursive handwriting → in English
   If that's something you'd be interested in, do it. Here's a video I just took! Apple would have you believe there is no such support in their docs (re: lies). ↩
