WM_PROJECT_DIR issue when installing

This is most likely a very basic issue but I did not find any other instructions on how to fix it. Maybe this issue will result in the instructions in the README file being updated.
So I cloned the Repo and tried installing it with ./Allwmake.

wmakeCheckPwd error: Current directory is not /opt/openfoam6
Error: Current directory is not $WM_PROJECT_DIR
The environment variables are inconsistent with the installation.
Check the OpenFOAM entries in your dot-files and source them.

The problem is, that my current directory indeed was /opt/openfoam6. I even tried copying RapidCFD to /opt/ and to set $FOAM_INSTALL to the RapidCFD directory location.
Any help is appreciated!

It looks like you already have a copy of OpenFOAM 6 installed. There are a few places you can put OpenFOAM and RapidCFD: a common place is in /opt. My /opt directory is owned by root, so when I install RapidCFD on my laptop, I follow this procedure:

su
cd /opt
git clone https://github.com/Atizar/RapidCFD-dev
cd RapidCFD-dev
source etc/bashrc
./Allwmake

This may not be the most elegant approach, but it gets the job done for me.

Notes:

• Be sure that OpenFOAM-dev is not installed because its ThirdParty-dev will conflict with that of RapidCFD-dev. Workaround: you can change the name of RapidCFD-dev to something else, and change "dev" to the name you choose in RapidCFD's etc/bashrc.

• To switch between OpenFOAM 6 and RapidCFD, you can source the etc/bashrc file for the respective OpenFOAM installation whenever you switch between OpenFOAM forks. You can even create aliases to help you do this, as described here: https://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Installation/Working_with_the_Shell

I tried to install RapidCFD for use with AMD GPUs (https://github.com/wtkaczewski/RapidCFD-dev).

I created a directory RapidCFD in my $HOME directory and downloaded the sources using git clone so they are in:

$HOME/RapidCFD/RapidCFD-dev

In the etc/bashrc is the line foamInstall=$HOME which causes a conflict as $WM_PROJECT_DIR is not set correctly. This comes up, when I try to run ./Allwmake . Changing foamInstall=$HOME to foamInstall=$HOME/$WM_PROJECT causes an instant crash of the Linux terminal. When using the original version of RapidCFD which doesn't support AMD GPUs, the setup works fine, there are no issues with the paths settings.

I am using Ubuntu 22.04, and had the exact same issue under Almalinux 9.1 .

Is there a fix?
